Maroochy Podiatry manufactures both custom and prefabricated orthoses.
Both of our podiatrists use traditional artisan hand manufacturing techniques, not generic computerised methods, to produce our orthotics .

Whats the difference between a Custom and Pre-fabricated orthotic?

A custom orthotic is moulded from a modified positive cast of the patients foot. First a plaster cast is taken of both feet, then a positive mould is made and plaster expansions are added to resemble an orthotic shape whilst complimenting the shape of the patients foot.

A Pre-fabricated orthotic is an "off-the-shelf" generic shape. However, Maroochy Podiatry uses 'PolyFab orthotics' which have varying arch heights and shell lengths. Your podiatrist will also add small modifications to further customise this device.
